Automatic/Manual Inflatable Vests
Automatic/Manual Inflatable PFD's can be configured to inflate either automatically when the wearer is submerged in water or manually so that they inflate only when activated by the wearer. This flexibility allows boaters to configure for proper deployment. For example, someone wearing a PFD while sailing in a dinghy might opt for a manual configuration due to the increased probability of capsizing multiple times whereas another boater going deep sea fishing far offshore in rough seas would likely opt to have the PFD inflate automatically in the event the wearer ends up in the water. If the wearer was disoriented or injured, they may not be able to manually inflate the vest.
